Kauri Tree Art

We have been learning about Kauri dieback in reading time. The children created some Kauri trees using dye and crayons for the background, finger painting to make the patterns on the trunks, green collage leaves and finger painting the ground layer. We then wrote slogans to help save our Kauri trees from the dieback disease.

Here are some of our pieces of art.

Te Reo Maori - E pehea ana koe?

Today we made a video showing that we know how to ask someone 'E pehea ana koe?' and to answer in Maori. We used actions to show you what we are saying.

Here is the Year 4 group.

Here is the Year 3 video.

Koru Art Work - Term 2

We have been learning about koru and Maori patterns this term. As part of our Matariki focus we completed these artworks. We had to draw the koru, shade and blend with pastel using warm and cool colours, then weave skewers through to finish it off.

Golf coaching

This term we have Paul aka Mr Golf come to our school and teach us golf skills. We have absolutely loved it and have had so much fun. Here are some photos from our last session where we learnt to 'launch' the ball towards targets.
