Movies - Term 3

In Team Awa some groups have been making movies. These 3 movies were shared in our school movie judging. Unfortunately we didn't get in the top 3 but we are proud of these children. We started with a brainstorming session to get ideas of what our movies would be about. Then each group made a story board to plan out their movie. They had to write their script and decide what part they would play. Here are our 3 finished movies, there are still a few more to finish.

Happy Mother's Day - Garden to Table

Over Level 4 and Level 3 of lockdown for Covid-19 the children in Team Awa have been doing Garden to Table from their own kitchen and gardens. Aimee put together this fabulous video to say thank you and Happy Mother's Day.

There has been lots of awesome cooking and gardening going on by Team Awa in lockdown.

Garden to table Week 7

In Garden to Table this week the kitchen groups made coleslaw, corn fritters and fruit salad.

In the garden they planted some kale and silver beet seedlings and did some more weeding. They also harvested some seeds.

Thank you to Aseel from ASB bank for volunteering in the garden with us this week. We are also loving all our other wonderful volunteers who are making our programme run so smoothly.

  

  

Garden to Table Week 4

What a wonderful day it was in Garden to Table yesterday. Lots of work done in the garden and we made fruit salad and homemade pizza in the kitchen. The kids had a great time and it was amazing to see so many helpers. Thank you so much!!

  

  

  

Garden to Table 2020

On Friday we had our first session of Garden to Table for 2020. We had a safety session where we talked about how to be safe in the kitchen and garden and watched videos on how to use a knife safely. The children worked hard in the garden clearing weeds and harvesting seeds. In the kitchen we made hummus, pita crisps and fruit salad. The children all enjoyed the food.

Garden to Table 22 November

Kia ora koutou, we have created more delicious kai this morning, vege fritters with carrots, potatoes, onions, corn and silverbeet, served with tomato salsa sauce, followed by sweet bliss balls. Yummo!
